July 2010 - Wrap Up
Yesterday was our 50th Consecutive Golf outing as we ushered in our 5th Season as a Club and we had a great turnout at Bridgemill Golf Club who were part of this historic milestone.
We also saw a change of the guard just before the first group went out, as I handed the Tournament Director Baton to Shem Orwenyo who has been actively involved in the club affairs as the Handicap Director. Shem will lead the club for the next several years working closely with our tireless Marketing Director, Tony Chavez.
We were joined by several new golfers yesterday who will soon be officially joining the club as members - Thanks guys and see you again soon;

Annual Awards
New REBO CUP Champion - 2010 - George Waiyaki
Most Improved Golfer (2009/10 Season) - George Waiyaki
The most improved player is determined by a simple formula - change in handicap index through the year and there was a tie between Jeff Ngeny (last year's winner) and George Waiyaki who only won a a tie breaker determined by the number of events won in the past season.
Next event will be at Chestatee Golf Club on 400 North on August 21st 2010 - more details to follow.
It has been great serving you as Tournament Director for the last 4 years - see you out on the course - time to work on that handicap now...

January 2010 - Wrap Up
Hello fellow golfers,
The weatherman has never been so wrong like they were today - they promised 57 degree weather but we never hit 45 today with a windchill this afternoon that made it feel like 25.
In short, we froze our butts off today BUT we still played - 17 trooper Golfers showed up and duked it out with the back-9 scores reflecting the sudden dip in temperatures.
We'd like to congratulate our winners;
First Place - Jay Hart (86 gross)
Second Place - Captain Joseph Wambugu from OHIO
Third Place - Eston Mwangi from OHIO
Closest to the PIN - William Taharka
Longest Drive - Joseph Wambugu
We'd also like to recognize a first time golfer to the JC Tour - William Matos
Another REAL BIG thing happened today, we had a meeting to discuss - OHIO officially forming a Jamhuri Classic Chapter. Their first event will be in April 2010 and their monthly tournaments will run for only 7 months given the conditions in OHIO before closing for the off season.
JC-Atlanta shall provide the structural support and guidance to the OHIO TEAM to get this off the ground.
This certainly is very exciting News and we shall be adding an OHIO link to the JC website which will continue to be the main website and the to go to place for any golf news on Jamhuri Classic in both states.
That said we'd like to have some of our players go to OHIO for their first event to support them - so let me know if you'd be interested in making this trip.
Finally - we did open up a link online to support HAITI and we close this drive in the next 3 weeks whether we have raised $5 or $20. Am sure many of you are helping out HAITI through other efforts and I urge to also go to Jamhuri Classic.com and give your $5, $10 or $50 that we as Jamhuri Classic can present to the American Red Cross towards this effort.
